Nokia 3110 new version. Operating system and programs

Back in 2000, about 126 million copies of the legendary Nokia 3310 were sold. At that time, the phone was the crown of achievements in mobile technology and would receive hundreds of thousands of rave reviews. At the MWC 2017 exhibition, the Nokia brand, of which only one name remains, presented an updated version of the iconic phone, and also held a presentation of others.

Price and main characteristics

In Britain, the new product will hit store shelves on May 24. On the same day, sales will start in other major European cities, including Russia. The starting price tag of the device is $65; 3310 hit the shelves of our stores at a price of 4,000 thousand rubles. This is not a small amount for which you can buy even an ultra-budget smartphone.

The updated push-button phone runs on the Nokia Series 30+ operating system with some improvements for modern applications. This solution is well known from the model lines of numerous Nokia push-button phones.

Equipment and appearance

Following old design trends is embodied not only in the device’s body, but also in its box. This is not a minimalist white box like the iPhone, but a bright, colorful package. On the back of the box you can see the main technical characteristics of the device.

In addition to the phone itself, you can find a charger inside USB device Type-C, headphones, removable battery and documentation. 3310 cannot be charged via USB port computer, since the charging unit and cable are one piece.

The manufacturer tried to preserve the design of the old legendary 2000 model. He succeeded in part, new nokia from the front it looks almost the same as its predecessor. However, the body of the device itself has become almost twice as thin and lighter than the original. In your hands, the 3310 no longer feels like a heavy “brick”.

There are doubts about the damage resistance of the new product. It is unlikely that it will withstand all the tests that the old model endured. The body of the new 3310 is made entirely of plastic. Back cover can be removed to replace the battery or change the SIM card. Buyers have a choice of four colors: red, glossy yellow, classic dark blue and gray.

The location and shape of the buttons have been slightly adjusted to suit modern standards. They respond to pressing with pleasant clicks, and individual keys are very easy to feel in the dark due to their larger width. The 2.4-inch display on the front panel takes up almost the entire area free from the keyboard. It is surrounded by large black inserts, giving the false impression of its oval shape.

The lines of the body look very unusual against the background of modern smartphones. There are no sharp cuts or corners here; the front of the 3310 smoothly transitions into rounded ends. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is located at the bottom right side.

Type-C for charging is located on top, it is not placed symmetrically.

To access the SIM and microSD slot, you will first have to turn off the 3310, then remove the cover and remove the battery. There is also a 2-megapixel camera with flash that can be used as a flashlight. Just above the lens slot there is a small perforation for the speaker.

Overall, the 2017 3310 is a bit similar to its predecessor, but at the same time has its own characteristic features. The phone turned out to be as simple as possible in design, but its appearance can be described in one word: “fresh”. For lovers of nostalgia, we recommend purchasing the dark blue version of the device, it is most similar to the original.

Screen and interface

The new 3310 is equipped with a 2.4-inch TFT screen with QVGA resolution. Pixel density is 167 units per inch. It makes no sense to evaluate the display according to the criteria of standard modern smartphones, since it has a completely different purpose.

3310 is needed exclusively for calls or a couple of important SMS. For this small color screen it is quite enough. True, it is not always possible to use it comfortably. This is all due to fairly small viewing angles and a weak brightness reserve. To see the text on the display under sunlight, you will have to squint very hard.

The phone's interface is most likely already familiar to many from previous generations of Nokia devices. operating system Series 30+ has a menu that consists of several of the most necessary options. The standard icons for the calendar, contacts, call log and basic application directory have been added Opera browser Mini, voice recorder, player and camera app.

You can control the interface thanks to the square of four keys under the screen. They allow you to select menu items in four directions, just like most push-button phones. The functions of the call and power buttons are indicated on the display.

Functional

What can Nokia 3310 do? Trying to at least slightly correspond to modernity, the manufacturer has provided the Opera Mini browser. It's almost impossible to use due to lack of support Wi-Fi networks, and 2G Internet speed simply does not satisfy the basic requirements of most users accustomed to high-speed Internet.

Given the emphasis on nostalgia for the old model, the legendary “Snake” has returned in the new Nokia. The game was developed by Gameloft studio, which already has extensive experience in the field of mobile entertainment. The company managed to turn the game into a colorful quest with red apples instead of dots in the old 3310.

Snake Xenzia looks beautiful and allows you to pass the time when necessary. You can also install several other entertainment apps here. Old-school fans will definitely love Asphalt 6: Adrenaline and Diamond Twister. Initially under user files and applications available only 16 MB internal memory. To fully use the phone, we recommend that you immediately purchase a memory card, which will reveal its potential as an Mp3 player.

Camera

Now it would be stupid to launch even a push-button phone without a camera on the market. Nokia took this fact into account and provided the 3310 with a 2-megapixel photosensor on the rear panel. There is no front selfie module here. The camera is equipped with flash only, there is no HDR or other modern features.

As expected, the quality of the images does not shine with stunning results. The camera can be used to shoot printed text in normal lighting, nothing more. It’s quite difficult to post finished photos on social networks; you have to use a computer and a card reader, and the photos themselves hardly deserve it.

Speaker, sound quality

The 3310 fulfills its task of “dialer” one hundred percent. The phone speaker is powerful enough to hear incoming call even in a bag or backpack. But it is sometimes difficult to hear the interlocutor due to the lack of a noise reduction system.

Battery

The outstanding autonomy of the old Nokia has been preserved in the new 3310. The removable 1200 mAh battery leaves modern smartphones far behind. The phone can last up to 22 hours in talk mode. The standby mode will discharge the device only after a month.

The approximate battery charging time is 1.5 hours. If you wish, you can buy another battery, although this is not so necessary; the 3310 reliably lasts 4-5 days on a single charge with moderate active use.

Communication and Internet

The set of communication modules looks very poor even for a push-button telephone. The new 3310 does not support the 3G standard; data can only be transferred using 2G. This makes the phone browser practically useless in modern conditions.

Also inside is bluetooth module 3.0. There is no provision for connecting to Wi-Fi or GPS.

Video review of Nokia 3310

Competitors, conclusion

Excellent autonomy;
Quite strong body;
Removable battery;
"Snake".

No Wi-Fi;
Small amount of internal memory;
Works only in 2G.

Consider new Nokia 3310 is possible from two points of view. Comparing with the previous model, of course, one can see huge improvements with an attempt to preserve the original design. The manufacturer partially succeeded in this.

However, the rapid pursuit of nostalgia turned the device into an almost useless device compared to smartphones. Therefore, for the money set aside for the purchase of 3310, you can buy a quite tolerable budget chinese smartphone. Is it worth buying a new version of the legendary phone? Only if you're a hipster or want to go back to 2000.

  • The camera has an LED flash.
  • Two SIM cards.
  • Expandable memory up to 32 GB.
  • Comes in four different colors.
  • Audio-video player, games and FM.
  • 2 megapixel camera.

In this review, we will look at the advantages of the device in more detail, evaluate its characteristics and draw a conclusion - is it worth buying the 3310?

Sold in the following countries:

Benefits of Nokia 3310

  1. LED Camera Flash: The very first feature that is noticed in the Nokia 3310 is a very good feature for taking photos in low light conditions. Let us remind you that the product does not have a good camera, so the flash is a plus for Nokia.
  2. Dual SIM: in old version No Dual Sim, but in this device you can use two SIM cards at the same time.
  3. Expandable MicroSD Card Slot: Another great feature to consider. The manufacturer has placed a memory card slot on this device that expands the memory up to 32GB, which is enough for those who buy the 3310.
  4. Four Beautiful Colors: Unlike the old version, this new device comes in 4 different colors - blue, red, gray and yellow.
  5. Gaming, Audio Video and FM: Another thing to consider while purchasing low maintenance gadgets. The 3310 has everything you need for entertainment, including games, an audio and video player, and the old but awesome FM player.
  6. Comes with a camera: The 3310 has a 2-megapixel camera, good enough for those who focus more on durability than functionality.

The Nokia 3310 2017 is a simple, rugged, truly reliable device, ideal for those adults and children who just need a mobile phone for basic communication purposes. In addition, this communicator will definitely appeal to most users who still do not like smartphones.

Design

The name "Nokia 3310" evokes memories and nostalgic feelings in almost all people, but there is nothing old about the product except the name and appearance. It just looks like the original 3310. The up/down button icon has been replaced by a tiny directional pad, and the select button that was previously located below the screen has been removed altogether in favor of send and end call buttons, which are placed on either side of the body.

What you'll recognize is a contrasting ring of color that snakes around the screen. The keyboard is also familiar and has a backlight.

The product is made of soft plastic, feels pleasant in your hands, and does not slip out. Compared with Samsung Galaxy Nokia S8 seems tiny - it almost disappears in your pocket. Like the original 3310, the new device is built to last.

Available colors:

  • Blue matte, Blue
  • Matte gray, which is more close to black, Dark.
  • Red glossy, Red.
  • Yellow glossy.

There's a micro-USB charging port at the top, while the headphone jack is located at the bottom.

Screen, performance and usability

Obviously, the model does not touch screen. However, it has a color panel and all commands are entered using the keyboard and buttons. Thanks to the presence of T9, even with buttons it is very convenient to type messages.

The screen is very good, highly pixelated. It is a 2.4-inch panel with a resolution of 240x320, large icons and text in the Symbian software are clearly visible and crisp.

The mobile phone works quickly, but is a little slow when working with the browser. But due to long scrolling, only a small number of users even use the browser on this gadget.

No 3G, no Wi-Fi, no GPS, but there is some sort of software store with several apps available. The internal memory is small, only 16 MB. It is enough to store several pictures, a couple of ringtones, and programs. But thanks to the presence of a slot for microSD cards You can equip your device with a memory card of the required size.

Yes, some people may perceive the lack of 3G and Wi-Fi in the most negative way, but understand - the phone is not designed to perform many functions and tasks - for this there are a large number of iPhones, Samsungs and other smartphones of the same type. Model 3310 was created specifically for connoisseurs of simplicity and classics. It offers durability, practicality, convenience and simplicity in a package we're all familiar with. Voice and test communications are available - this is enough for normal communication between people. It is better to call a person and arrange a meeting than to write numerous messages without personal contact.

You won't be able to join your friends' WhatsApp group, and no simple way gain access to Facebook Messenger - one of the most popular services messaging in the world. Available only SMS text message, which only advanced youth seems restrictive and old-fashioned.

But the new-old model has Bluetooth. You can insert a memory card, load your favorite music, connect headphones and use the gadget as a player - convenient and functional. This device is aimed at hipsters.

Let's play Snake!

The biggest advantage that the new Nokia 3310 gives us is the ability to play an amazing remake of the original mobile game Snake (Snake).

This is not the Snake we all remember. Developer Gameloft has modernized the app with colors, multi-directional movement, and Pac-Man style. And in the end, we got a more three-dimensional image, rich bright colors, interesting graphics and an exciting game.

This is not the old Snake, but a modern Gameloft one that includes levels and a survival mode that features bombs, scissors, magnets and multipliers.

Battery and camera

There is absolutely no reason for this product to have a camera, but it does. Users have access to 2-megapixel photography, which is better than VGA in the Nokia 150. Let's be honest, the photos are not very clear, the color rendition is also lame, but you can photograph documents, a schedule or a car license plate.

The battery life on a single charge is another real reason why every person should buy this gadget. No modern smartphone can last for several weeks without needing to be recharged (most smartphones last a day at most), but the 3310 can be used comfortably for seven days. The manufacturer claims that the device can last for a month in standby mode. This is incredibly cool!

User interface

Above we have already mentioned a little about functionality of this mobile phone, but we’ll still put them in a new section. There's Bluetooth 3.0 and 2G support - so you can technically browse the web on the phone, but loading content is slow. There is no Wi-Fi.

The device runs on an updated version of the old Series 30 operating system, which is familiar to most users. Before you get started, you'll need a few minutes of setup as you'll have to remember how to use the buttons—there's no touchscreen.

The model interface is elementary. The menus have a grid, just like when drawing an app, and you can use the D-pad for shortcuts like calendar, new message, and contacts.

Should I buy the 3310?

At the end of the day, the Nokia 3310 is a tribute to nostalgia that won't replace your smartphone. But this is not the purpose of the old-new mobile phone. This is not just a legend in a new, slightly improved form, it is practically a collector's item that can either be used and shown to friends, or kept in a safe.

Here are 5 reasons why you should still buy this legendary phone:

  1. Nostalgia. The mobile features design features from its previous incarnation, including rounded corners and curved screen glass, which (the manufacturer claims) improves readability and visibility in bright sunlight. Nokia 3310, although it has some differences from the first model, undoubtedly causes a wave of nostalgia among fans of the brand.
  2. Time battery life. Compared to modern smartphones, the new 3310 is inexpensive, but you can buy it as a second phone with long battery life. It boasts a battery backup of up to a month, which cannot be matched by any smartphone available in the market today. As with the original, total time battery life is one of the biggest advantages of the new product. It comes with a removable 1200mAh battery that can support 22 hours of continuous talk time. In addition, the gadget is equipped with one convenient modern innovation - it does not use a pin charger and instead works with a standard Micro-USB port, which can be found in most Android smartphones.
  3. Snake. Fans of the legendary Snake were most looking forward to the release of the new-old Nokia 3310 on the market. This game has returned to the feature phone with several updates and has also been optimized for the color screen.
  4. Durability. In the 2000s, the original Nokia 3310 was touted as a nearly indestructible device, durable enough to withstand water splashes, second-floor tile drops, and more. New model similar to its predecessor in strength and reliability.
  5. No more Irritatating APPS. The 3310 is not compatible with many apps, including Facebook and WhatsApp. For some this will be a major drawback, but there are many people who simply get tired of the constant notifications from social networks. With the improved Nokia not allowing huge app packages to be installed, it will give users a reason to stop constantly browsing Facebook and Instagram.

Before purchasing this device, you need to understand that this is a basic communicator, and it has enough features that it provides basic model. There is no need to compare the Nokia 3310 with any other smartphone; evaluate its advantages and decide whether it suits your lifestyle.

Positioning

HMD Global has received all rights to use the Nokia brand when producing both regular feature phones and smartphones. This company is a subsidiary of Foxconn, which is trying its hand as a manufacturer of devices under its own brand. At the same time, push-button phones are not a priority; they are produced for two reasons - the push-button market has not disappeared with the development of smartphones, and the Nokia brand is well known in this market. The fact that Microsoft actually curtailed the production of Nokia feature phones freed up a niche for Chinese companies, and now HMD Global wants to take back part of the market. But not at the expense of profits. And if Chinese manufacturers are ready to create phones at bargain prices, costing less than $10, then HMD Global’s approach is completely different, they make money on such devices, and they earn a lot. To successfully sell them, the company appeals to popular models of the past. For example, the same Nokia 3310 was produced from 2000 to 2005 and was sold with a total circulation of 126 million units, this is one of the most popular models in the entire history of the phone market.

The main message of HMD Global is that “the legend is back,” these words can be read in a huge number of materials dedicated to the new model. In February, at an exhibition in Barcelona, this device was the highlight of the program; crowds gathered to look at it; it was difficult to push through to the stand.

A well-played PR card drew attention to a model that would otherwise be completely invisible, with nothing outstanding about it. This is the phenomenon of the old Nokia, which retained a loyal audience, despite how the company was destroyed by people from Microsoft, many people still have warm feelings and are ready to invest their money in products with this brand. It was an amazing discovery for me that in 2017, years after the destruction of Nokia as such, there are people who are still asking for something from Nokia in stores, the feeling is that they spent this time in suspended animation and did not notice anything from it. what was happening in the market.

The 2017 Nokia 3310 is positioned like this - this is the return of a legend, which is needed by children or adults who feel nostalgic and need a second, push-button phone for calls. Let's see how successful this comeback is.

Design, dimensions, control elements

The appearance of the Nokia 3310 has undergone changes, this is a different device, created based on, it is difficult to recognize the same 3310 in the new product, or you need to have a very rich imagination.

The model is available in four colors - red (glossy), yellow (glossy), dark blue (matte), gray (matte). My case is dark blue, as the manufacturer emphasizes, the plastic is painted in bulk, that is, over time the color will not peel off, since it is not paint. But this is not the problem with the case at all; within a matter of days it wears out in your pocket, and bald spots appear on it. Moreover, I checked this on several devices, it was the same everywhere. The gray device is also erased, but because of the color it is not so noticeable.

Glossy cases are cheerful, they don’t have problems with rubbing.

The phone dimensions are 115.6x51x12.8 mm, weight - 79.6 grams. It is small and fits well in the hand, except that the location of the camera is not entirely convenient; usually a piece of your finger covers it.

It’s unlikely that anyone will often use the camera on this device, so it’s not worth saying that this is a problem; in rare cases, you can move your finger.

The first problem you encounter is the opening of the case; it was made very tight. There is a plus in this, since the back panel fits like a glove, but the minus is also obvious - you won’t be able to open the case instantly, and you can easily break your nails. Let me remind you that the original 3310 also had a tight case; despite the button on the back, it was difficult to remove the panel. Here, apparently, they decided to repeat the old experience; in the video you can see what kind of torment this moment of disclosure brings.

Unfortunately, this model is budget and there are no side volume keys. Inside you can see two slots for microSIM cards, and the slides for the slots are not processed and have sharp edges. Look how the shavings were removed from my SIM card.

No adapters for SIM cards can be used in this model; the design is such that if you try to remove the card with the adapter, you will simply bend the contacts; this is separately warned in the instructions.

There is a separate speaker on the rear panel for playing ringtones, but it is quite quiet and the volume is below average. There is also a camera lens and an LED flash, which also acts as a flashlight.

At the top end there is a microUSB connector, it is used to charge the device, at the bottom end there is a 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones or a headset, present in the Russian supply, it is very inexpensive, budget, but you shouldn’t expect anything else.

The build quality of the device is good, there are no rough edges. Due to the convex screen, a kind of lens, hand marks are clearly visible on it.

Display

In push-button phones big screen The diagonal is considered to be 2.4-2.6 inches, here the screen is 2.4 inches with QVGA resolution. The picture quality is good, the fonts are large and clearly legible. For working in the sun there is a polarizing filter, the picture remains readable.

I like the device with its screen, I can’t say that it is somehow different from high-quality Chinese buttons, but it is definitely one of the notable representatives of this class of devices.

In standby mode, nothing is shown on the screen, but you can wake up the device to see a screensaver in the form of a black and white clock.

Keyboard

Nokia push-button phones always or almost always had high-quality buttons, they had a good action, soft pressing, the company paid a lot of attention to this. Unfortunately, the keyboard in this device is not all right. Let's start with the fact that the buttons have a very short travel, add here their small size, and it turns out that typing text, and not just a number, will be difficult.

Function keys double, which does not cause any particular problems, but in games, for example, the same snake can accidentally press adjacent keys, which leads to the toy exiting. Crowded and cramped.

The navigation key has an inscribed OK button; deviations are assigned to call up various functions.

The keyboard backlight is white, not very bright, but it hides the symbols on the buttons; they blend into mush.

It's a pity, but for the keyboard on this device you can give a solid C to the engineers who created the device; nothing good came of it.

Battery

Battery Li-Ion 1200 mAh, declared operating time in talk mode - up to 22 hours, in standby mode - up to 25 days, when listening to MP3 - up to 51 hours, FM radio - up to 39 hours. With one SIM card and about an hour of calls daily, the device worked quietly for about 8 days. The less you touch the screen, the more it will work. Since, apart from SMS and a calendar, there is not much to occupy yourself with, this is a dialer for calls that will work for a long time. She will live quietly in standby mode for several weeks. Full charging time is about 2.5 hours.

Communication capabilities

This is an ordinary dialer that supports only 2G (in Moscow and the region, Tele2 subscribers can safely forget about it). The lack of 3G in a device of this price is discouraging; it’s strange, especially since Nokia had models of this level with 3G.

The presence of Bluetooth is useful for exchanging contacts with smartphones, for example, I downloaded all my contacts from an Android smartphone, it took a couple of minutes (a thousand contacts). Everything works great, and this is a huge plus of the device. You can transfer pictures taken on the Nokia 3310 using the same Bluetooth. There is no synchronization with a PC, and it is not needed.

Working with two SIM cards

The device has one radio module (GSM 900/1800), so simultaneous operation of two cards is impossible. Nokia offers to set up call forwarding, then if any card is unavailable, the call will be routed to a second one. This is not worth doing, since the cost of forwarding for most operators is quite high.

In the calls and messages menu, each list contains an indication of which card the event originated from; when dialing a number, you can select a card. You cannot choose your own icons and names for each card. But there are separate message, data and call counters for each card.

Camera

Regular 2 megapixel camera without autofocus, target audience A camera on such a device is not really needed. But it makes this device stand out among many buttons, whether they have cameras or they are not of very good quality.

Menu

The menu can be presented as a list or a 3x3, 4x4 matrix.

The left key can be assigned to call up a list of applications and functions that you choose yourself.

Phone book. You can store 2 thousand names in memory, with only one number per name. You can set your own picture for the name (if installed card memory). The list can be searched by name. There is a black list in which recorded contacts cannot be added; numbers must be entered manually. And it's all! A very ascetic phone book that raises more questions than it answers. On old Nokias notebooks were an order of magnitude better, here everything is very scanty and will suit only children.

Messages. There is support for both SMS and MMS. Templates, blacklist, smiles - everything is standard, and there is nothing special here. When messages are received, they appear on the home screen in a small pop-up window. They appear in the list as chat.

Call lists. Three lists – dialed, missed, received. It's quite simple.

Alarm. Up to 5 alarms with repeats on certain days, both your own file and radio as a melody (you need to connect a headset).

FM radio. Works only with the headset turned on, there is a mode speakerphone, station search and display text information. Everything is extremely simple.

Music player. Can search for music in all folders on the memory card, displays album covers. Everything is simple and clear, there is support for playlists.

Opera acts as a built-in browser, so everything is simple. It cannot be replaced with something else.

Applications and games. There are 4 games, all of them are demo versions, if you want to play, pay 99 rubles plus the cost of SMS. The debit comes from the operator's account.

That same snake looks like a parody of the old game; it’s free, but it doesn’t make you want to play.

Calendar supports event entry, display only for a month.

Calculator, voice recorder, file manager, countdown timer, stopwatch, unit converter– all this is done simply.

Originally launched in September 2000, the Nokia 3310 has become an iconic phone, with over 126 million units sold since then and the device forever etched in the hearts of many fans. Today the legend is reborn again with the updated Nokia 3310 - 2017.

Nokia 3310 (2017) – First review

Thanks to its amazing durability, long battery life, user-friendly design, and, of course, Snake II, the first Nokia version The 3310 became a cult classic like no other phone before or since. In fact, we can't stress enough how cool the 3310 was for the mobile phone market in 2000. This may sound funny to some of our younger readers, but at launch, the Nokia 3310 offered many things rarely seen on other phones, such as a calculator, stopwatch, reminders and large SMS text messaging.

Nokia 3310 is a legend that will forever remain in our collective memory as one of best phones ever created. In fact, if someone had asked us a couple of months ago whether we would like the new 3310, the successor to the legend, we would have answered no, because no device - past, present or future - will ever compare to these four digits. Alas, no one asked us, and HDM Global is now bringing the 3310 back to the market, after a long and well-deserved “retirement”.

Yes it new phone Nokia 3310, 2017. So what remains or is new in it, besides the name of the legendary original, what can it offer? Let's find out...

At first glance, the new 3310 looks similar to its predecessor - it retains its big brother's iconic oval outline, has a similar off-white bezel around the screen, and its keyboard is almost a copy of the old model in terms of shape and ergonomics. However, the new Nokia 3310 is definitely lighter and much thinner than the original. It unfortunately doesn't feel nearly as robust as its venerable predecessor.

The new Nokia 3310 received a bidirectional navigation button, unlike the original, a sort of “square” that we have already seen on newer models mobile phones Nokia. This solution is not very easy to use and also not very accurate. As for the keyboard, it has a small feedback when entering text.

The original Nokia 3310 was known for its removable Xpress-On front and rear panel. There's nothing like that on the new 3310. Although the phone comes in a variety of colors (red, yellow, blue and grey), only the back cover is removable to allow access to the battery.

Software and interface

User interface The new Nokia 3310 bears no resemblance to the original. The original 3310's horizontally scrolling menu has been replaced by a screen with a series of 30 3 x 3 rows of icons.

Regarding the pre-installed software, you have everything you could expect from modern phone, including a web browser and app store, although their functionality is severely limited by some of the device's technical shortcomings.

The new Nokia 3310 comes with only one pre-installed installed game, and yes, it's Snake, but not the original. This is a colorful 2D remake of Snake II, developed by Gameloft. Unfortunately, none of the other classic 3310 games are found here, meaning you won't be able to blow up aliens in space or play Bantumi.

On the other hand, the phone comes with a lot of classic pre-loaded ringtones from Nokia. All of them are polyphonic, and it's unclear whether this can be considered an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on your point of view (and the amount of nostalgia). But there are no ringing, ear-piercing, monophonic ringtones like the ones you'd find on the original 3310.

Battery

The new Nokia 3310 has a 1200 mAh battery that won't offer too much, but it is capable of providing around 22 hours of talk time and a staggering 30 days of standby.

To put things into perspective, it's about double the size of the original 3310 on all counts, which is ideal for a phone that's likely to be mostly in a case or pocket for long periods of time.

Camera Nokia 3310 (2017)

The new Nokia 3310 has a 2-megapixel main camera with LED flash, but does not have a selfie sensor on the front. The rear shooter will be able to capture acceptable frames and record videos, that's about all we can say about the camera of the new Nokia for now.

Storage and playback system in Nokia 3310

The phone comes with 16MB of storage, which thankfully can be expanded up to 32GB using an SD card slot.

In addition, the phone plays videos and MP3 files, and also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio, which is definitely a plus.

Bottom line

The new Nokia 3310 has no Wi-Fi, no 3G, no GPS, no front camera or display with high resolution. It's not a 3310 in the sense that it's trying to be as innovative and revolutionary for its time as the original 3310 just because HMD Global says so. The company does not do today for mobile world what the original Nokia 3310 did 17 years ago, but instead relies on its name to grab attention.

The new 3310 is just an ordinary budget Nokia phone, in a shell that reveals only a passing resemblance to the original 3310's design.

If you are looking for cheap backup phone with amazing battery life, you should definitely consider the new Nokia 3310 with a price of € 49 (3,000 rubles). Otherwise, unless you're still under the influence of powerful nostalgia, the new Nokia 3310 isn't worthy of your attention, time or money.
