How to find out coordinates

Move the cursor to the desired point. The coordinates will appear in the lower right corner of the window.

If your cursor is outside the map, Google Earth will show the coordinates for a point in the center of the screen.

How to choose a coordinate format

You can choose how the program displays coordinates. The following formats are available to you:

Example: 37.7°, -122.2°.
Degrees, minutes, seconds.
Degrees, minutes with decimals. Example: 32° 18.385"N 122° 36.875"W.
Universal Transverse Mercator projection. Example: 549912.16 m E 8481456.23 m N.

How to search using coordinates

If you know the coordinates, Google Earth will instantly take you to the right place.

Open Google Earth.
In the search bar on the left, enter coordinates in one of these formats:
- Degrees with decimals. Example: 37.7°, -122.2°.
- Degrees, minutes, seconds. Example: 37°25"19.07"N, 122°05"06.24"W.
Google Earth will take you to that point and its coordinates will appear in the lower right corner of the screen.

How to show a coordinate grid on a map

To make it easier to find out your exact location, turn on the coordinate grid:

The anomaly near Mount Ararat is a geological formation of an unusual shape. It is located at an altitude of 4725 meters above sea level and has a length of almost 183 meters.
