Correct setup of Yandex Webmaster. Yandex

  1. Search clicks and popular queries.
  2. Problems found on the site.
  3. Latest external links to your site.
  4. 10 latest changes in site indexing.
  5. History of TIC.

Below we will discuss each of these points in detail.

Diagnostics section

Contains information about errors found on your resource. The site is checked every day. All errors are divided into 4 types: recommendations, possible problems, critical, fatal.

Most errors are advisory in nature and do not affect the indexing and ranking of the site, except for the “Critical” and “Fatal” sections. You should pay special attention to these sections. Sanctions, site accessibility for search robots, server response time, etc. are displayed here. All errors can be found.

After correcting the error, be sure to notify Yandex about it. Just click the "Check" button.

Search queries section

The section contains information about search phrases for which the site is shown in the first 50 positions of Yandex search results. We have already talked about this section in more detail in the blog.

In short, in this section you can look at:

Shown full statistics all search queries for the selected period. All statistics are available starting from October 1, 2015.

Working in this report, you can divide requests by groups and time, and you can select the device type. Statistics by type allows you to separate transitions from mobile devices and desktops.

The section helps to track the dynamics of requests, the growth of positions, and the CTR of the snippet in search results.

Analyze the number of clicks from the positions and CTR of the site snippet:

By tracking this information, we can adjust site snippets in search results. We talked about how to indirectly influence a site snippet in Yandex search results in this article.

The Trends tab shows the dynamics of your website traffic in comparison with competitors.

The graph shows the dynamics of the relative number of transitions to your site (green graph) and competitors' sites (yellow graph). The data is displayed in an averaged version, which allows you to see the overall picture of the dynamics of transitions from search results.

The graph helps you track how changes on the site affect transitions from search results. For example, if you notice a general decrease in traffic for you and similar sites, it is most likely due to seasonality.

If only your graph has gone down, but similar sites continue to grow, something has gone wrong and you need to look for the reason.

Latest requests

Queries are generated automatically based on the TOP-50 Yandex search results with more than one shown, i.e. in this section you can see how key queries and what average position your site was in the search results, how many times users clicked and went to the site. These queries can be used to expand the semantic core of the site.

It is also possible to upload your own queries and track impressions and click statistics using them.

Yandex can suggest what other queries users may be using to search for you, which leads additional traffic. In addition to queries, the section displays the landing page for a given keyword.

Indexing section

The largest section in Webmaster. In the winter of 2016, it was quite updated. You can read about the main changes.

The Yandex robot regularly crawls website pages and adds them to its database. Some pages may be inaccessible to the robot, closed from indexing, or removed from the site. This section allows you to find out in detail which page is in the index, which one was deleted and why. Let's go through the sections.

This section allows you to find out which pages of the site were crawled by the Yandex robot. If a site has been unavailable for some time, a list of all unavailable pages will be visible for analysis. If the page is unavailable long time, the site's position will be lowered.

Pages in search

Displays site pages that participate in Yandex search. You can track which specific page is currently participating in search results, and which ones have been excluded.

A page can be excluded for several reasons:

  • double;
  • insufficient quality page;
  • redirect;
  • the page is closed from indexing;
  • page has been deleted.

We described in detail how to deal with duplicates in this article. In a nutshell, use the canonical tag, block all filters, search and other service pages from indexing. Insufficiently high-quality pages are calculated using a special Yandex algorithm. As a rule, these are pages with a couple of sentences of text, without useful content for users.

Site structure

Displays sections of the site containing more than 10 pages. Shows the total number of pages loaded and pages being searched.

  • Loaded pages are pages that the robot was able to find and add to its database.
  • Pages in search - pages presented in Yandex SERP. If a page is of poor quality, duplicates content, or is inaccessible, it will not appear in the search results.

Helps to detect service sections of the site and block them from indexing in the robots.txt file.

Check URL status

A tool for tracking the indexing of certain pages by a search robot. You can check whether Yandex knows about a specific page. Just copy the url address to search bar. The update may take up to several hours.

Important Pages

Yandex provides the ability to monitor the indexing of the most important pages of the site. You can find out about the appearance new page whether it participates or not in search results, etc.

A list of important and popular pages can be seen just below, in the “Recommended Pages” section.

To add pages, simply copy them into the appropriate field and click “follow”.

Re-crawling pages

Helps inform the search bot about new and updated pages. The function is useful when updating text on the site, changing images, etc. In our work, we often use it if we need to remove the site from filters.

Sitemaps

To speed up indexing, a special xml file is used. The document contains the complete structure of the site and the addresses of all pages. How to create such a file, read this article.

Site relocation

Allows you to notify Yandex about a change in the site address. Also used when moving a site to https, changing the main mirror of a site. The tool helps reduce risks when moving to a new domain, maintaining positions and the number of pages in the index *.

* Unfortunately, even if you use this Yandex.Webmaster function, Yandex does not guarantee that positions and all pages will be preserved in the index.

Links section

Contains information about internal and external links to the site.

If you find such links, it is important to correct them. The update occurs after the site is re-indexed by the robot. You can also find broken links using third-party services, for example brokenlinkcheck.com.

A convenient tool for analyzing a site's link profile. We recommend using it together with third-party services, like SE Ranking, MegaIndex, etc. If you can't figure it out, we'll be happy to help. With us, this service is included in the SEO audit of the site.

Section Information about the site

  • in the Yandex.Zen feed, if you are hosted in Yandex.Zen.

Turbo pages are marked with a rocket icon.

On mobile devices on poor 3G Internet, such pages load 15 times faster.

IN this moment All pages are created using a single template. The site logo at the top, text with images and an advertising block.

How to enable turbo pages:

  1. Create a special RSS feed.
  2. Submit information to Webmaster Yandex.
  3. Enable showing Turbo pages.

Regionality

Contains information about the region currently defined for your site.

If the resource is focused on geo-dependent queries, then be sure to ensure that the regionality of the site is determined correctly, since it can be taken into account when determining the relevance of the site to queries from a particular region.

If you have a website with a general theme, designed for users from all regions, then you do not need to assign a region. Sites of general topics, such as portals, blogs, etc. may be assigned the status “No regional affiliation”.

A site cannot be assigned the status “Does not have a regional affiliation” if it is dedicated to the products of a specific organization that has a physical or legal address.

Original texts

All texts posted on the site must be written in single copy and not to be repeated anywhere except this site. Unique texts help promote the site and increase user confidence in your resource.

In this section you can secure rights to the text before posting it. Once again, it is important to secure rights before placing text on site pages. If the text has already been posted and copied to other resources, assigning authorship is useless.

Many more useful tips Read our article on how to protect your original content.

Site name register

In this section you can change the case of the site name. This does not affect rankings in any way., but allows you to make it convenient and more informative for users.

Products and prices

The data will be used to improve the presentation of your site in search results. You can add the price and terms of delivery to a specific region to the site snippet.

Examples of snippets with and without additional information:

Instructions on how to work with Yandex Webmaster are ready, if you have anything to add, write in the comments, I will answer all questions :) If you have any difficulties with the installation, contact us, we will set up Yandex and Google Webmaster as part of the service - Search engine promotion of websites.

Using Webmaster Tools, you get excellent, free service to analyze and develop your website. A must have for all webmasters and website owners.

Hello everyone, my Dear friends! Today we will talk about how to add a website to Yandex Webmaster and why it is needed. I won’t beat around the bush, I’ll get straight to the explanation.

Why do you need Yandex Webmaster?

Having created your blog and installed counters, you only have to go through just a couple of steps before the official opening of the site. And these steps consist of connecting services to control the visibility of our pages in search engines. Actually, for this we need Yandex Webmaster, which performs the following functions:

  • Shows how many pages are in Yandex search;
  • Notifies you about how articles are being indexed;
  • Diagnoses errors and violations of the site as a whole;
  • Helps protect articles from blatant copying;
  • Well, and a lot more useful things.

In other words, this is a very useful and, I would even say, necessary service for us, since the main traffic will come from Yandex (Google is not very popular in our country, alas).

How to connect

Now let's figure out how to properly add our site to this service. In fact, there is nothing complicated here and everything can be done in just a couple of minutes.

First you need to go to the Yandex Webmaster website. To do this, enter the name of the service into a search engine or follow the link - click. If you have already connected, then for convenience, log in under the same account and click the add site button. In the field just below we enter Domain name and click “Add”:

Now comes the fun part - you need to confirm ownership of the site. To do this, you will be presented with three methods to choose from and you need to choose the one that is more convenient for you. I was lucky, my template theme has a special section for inserting code into different sections of pages, which automatically eliminates the need to go and edit theme files directly.

I can advise you on the option of creating a file and adding it to the root of the site. This is easy to do if you have access to FTP connection. Well, or through a hosting provider:

Having chosen what is more convenient for you and confirmed ownership, in a couple of days you will be able to observe the behavior of your site in search engine Yandex and track the indexing status of published articles.

Conclusion

Now you know how to add a site to Yandex Webmaster, so I have everything. I hope the article was useful to you and was able to help you install this useful service. Subscribe, tell your friends and see you in the next articles! Good luck!

Sometimes you need to move a website to a new domain, from a domain with the www prefix to a domain without it, or change the protocol from HTTP to HTTPS. The Yandex robot perceives all these cases as different sites. Therefore, the move comes down to combining the old and new site addresses into a group of mirrors.

In order for a new address to be included in the search results, the robot must identify it as the main mirror of the old domain. This will also allow you to transfer some accumulated indicators from the old site to the new one, for example:

    A link that is located on another site."))"> External links of the old site will be counted as external links of the new one. In this case, in Yandex.Webmaster, on the External links page, the addresses that are listed on the third-party site will be displayed.

    Texts that were added to Yandex.Webmaster on the page Information about the siteOriginal texts."}}">Original texts of the old site will be counted as texts of the new site.

Attention. When changing the main mirror, Yandex does not guarantee that the number of site pages in search results, its positions or traffic will be maintained.

To point the robot to the primary mirror, do the following:

Step 1. Add the old and new sites to Yandex.Webmaster

Add the old and new sites to Yandex.Webmaster and confirm rights to manage them. For more information, see the Quick Start section.

Step 2. Check that the content of the sites matches and they are accessible to the robot

Make sure that:

    The main content of the sites is the same (text and graphic content, Contact Information etc.).

    The old and new addresses are available to the robot:

    • The server response does not exceed 10 seconds and contains an HTTP status code of 200 OK for the new address, and 200 OK or 301 Moved Permanently for the old address.

Step 3. Set up redirection from the old address to the new one

Redirect

Step 4. Use the Site Move tool

The robot learns about the directions to the main mirror the next time it visits the site. To speed up the accounting of changes, use the Site Move tool:

    Go to Yandex.Webmaster and select the site you want to move from.

    On the page Indexing → Site relocation Submit your application in one of the following ways depending on the type of move:

    • to a new domain or another domain zone- enter a new address in the field or select from the list;

      from HTTP to HTTPS - enable the Add HTTPS option;

      to a domain with the www prefix - enable the Add WWW option;

      to a domain without a prefix - disable the Add WWW option.

","hasTopCallout":true,"hasBottomCallout":false,"areas":[("shape":"rect","direction":["top","left"],"alt":"Site address, to which you need to move","coords":,"isNumeric":false,"hasTopCallout":true,"hasBottomCallout":false),("shape":"rect","direction":["top","right "],"alt":"Old site address","coords":,"isNumeric":false,"hasTopCallout":true,"hasBottomCallout":false)]))">

The main mirror is replaced within a few weeks. To receive notifications about the main mirror change, subscribe to notifications.

After changing the main mirror, the new site address will begin to participate in the search.

Questions and answers

I followed the instructions and indicated the main mirror in Webmaster, but the non-main mirror is still present in the search. Why?

This happens until similar pages of the main mirror are indexed, even if a redirect was installed on them. After this, the pages will be excluded from search results for several updates of the search databases.

The pages of the non-main mirror can continue to be stored in the robot's database and displayed in Yandex.Webmaster, but they will not be displayed in search.

To keep track of search database updates, subscribe to notifications.

When changing a domain, the number of pages or position decreased

If the new domain is already recognized as the main mirror, then a noticeable change in the number of site pages in search results, its positions or traffic is allowed. These changes may be observed over the course of several search database updates.

Why is my relocation application not accepted?

    The site is unavailable or responds with a long delay.

    The content of the sites does not match. Check the correspondence between the addresses of internal pages and their titles.

    The site moves to another domain zone without a redirect.

    Site indexing is prohibited in the robots.txt file.

    The application has been sent from the site to which you need to move.

    Internal service error. Please try again later.

Application sent incorrectly

Select the case in which the application was sent in error:

Choose

Wrong site selected for relocation

You have changed your mind about moving the site, but the application has already been sent

If in Yandex.Webmaster on the page Indexing → Site relocation If you chose the wrong site in the list and sent an application, then after a while it will be rejected and the move will not be completed.

In this case, the application can be processed and the sites will be merged into a group of mirrors - then the application cannot be canceled. Wait until the changes are applied to the search results, and then move to the desired domain.

Why does the application take so long to process?

The request to move the site will be completed when the new site address becomes the main mirror and begins to participate in search results. This may take from several weeks to months, depending on the type of move, the speed of crawling sites by the robot, and updating data on mirrors in search results.

Check the following conditions:

    Both sites are accessible to the robot.

    The old site address redirects with HTTP code 301 to the new one - which will be considered the main mirror.

    The application to move the site to Yandex.Webmaster has been processed.

If all conditions are met, the data will be updated automatically over time.

Write to support service

As a rule, it takes about a month for the changes to appear in search results when changing the website address or the main mirror. If you followed the instructions when moving or posting sites, but the changes were not displayed in the search results, write to support.

To ensure your question gets to the right specialist faster, specify the topic:

Choose

The site is presented in the search at the wrong address

The site's domain name has changed

The HTTP/HTTPS protocol has changed

The www prefix has been added or removed

Application for relocation will not be accepted

Websites don't stay up for a long time

Every user of the OpenMall system can add your site to Yandex Webmaster; adding to the webmaster is necessary in order to see how Yandex indexes your site, to see when a search robot last visited your site, which pages were loaded into the webmaster, what place your site occupies in search queries By key phrases and much more.

In order to add your site to Yandex Webmaster, you need to follow this link https://webmaster.yandex.ru, click the “Login” button and log in using your Yandex mail data. If you don’t yet have a Yandex mail account, create one first.

Attention! Do not press the “Check” button immediately, but after you add the meta tag in the site settings. How to do this is described below:

If you have a Standard OpenMall template, then follow the instructions:

Go to admin.openmall.info to the My Stores - Stores section and click on the “Pencil” next to your site:

Now, we get into the store settings. We go down below and look for the Settings section and the “Custom code in the header” field - in this field we paste the code that Yandex gave us.

If you get an error, it means you did something wrong and you need to repeat the procedure.

If you have a Progress store template- then, after we have copied the code from Yandex, we go to the new Openmall admin panel - http://openmall.biz/admin - and go to the My Sites menu and click on the “Pink Gear” icon:

We get into the site settings. Find the “Codes” tab - the Custom code field in the header - insert the code from Yandex there and click “Save”.

Everything should work out.

Please note that we have shown one of several options for adding a site to the webmaster. You can use another method, instructions for which are on the Yandex Webmaster website.

Adding a site to Google Webmaster

You can add a site to Yandex.Webmaster that runs either on an engine (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.) or a site designed in bare HTML.

Step 1. If not account on Yandex, then create it, if there is one, then log in to any service (for example, mail).

Step 3. Click on the button with the plus sign - “Add site”.

Click on the "Add site" button

Step 4. For Yandex, the sites listed below are different:

  • https://site
  • http://www.site
  • https://site
  • https://www.site

If you add a site without specifying the protocol - site, then Yandex will decide that we are talking about the site https://site, i.e. about a site operating using the unsecured http protocol. To avoid mistakes, just copy the address home page site from address bar browser and paste it into the form field.

Insert the website address and click the "Add" button

At the time of writing these lines, my blog is still working using the http protocol, but very soon it is planned to transfer it to the secure https protocol, which will be the subject of a separate article.

Step 5. Now you must confirm your rights to the site. You can do this in four ways:

  1. Adding a meta tag to the code of the main page of the site;
  2. Uploading an html file with the specified name to the root of the site;
  3. Adding a TXT record to the DNS domain;
  4. WHOIS confirmation via Yandex.Passport.

It so happened “historically” that I confirm the rights to sites by uploading to the root of the file (previously it was possible to upload txt files, now only html files) - I will consider this option.

Go to the HTML file tab and upload to local computer confirmation file by clicking on the appropriate link

Now the file needs to be uploaded to the root of the site, i.e. to where the file index.php (site on the WordPress engine) or index.html (site on HTML) is located. In this particular case, I used file manager Beget hosting.

html file is located in the root directory of the site next to index.php and robots.txt

Now all that remains is to check whether the html file is downloaded from the specified link. To do this, just click on the “Check” button.
