If it is not possible to carry out cable system for connection and output to in your premises (house, cottage, office, country house or apartment) or it is not economically profitable for you, you should seek help from specialists who will help you connect and configure an ADSL modem with a built-in Wi-Fi transmitter.

Wireless Fidelity is considered the global equipment standard. It is designed to organize connections wireless networks, whose radio communication has a broadband range.

Wi-Fi modems make it possible to freely access the Internet in any place convenient for you where there is an access point. Modems fully comply with certified devices with designated Wi-Fi logos, transmitters emit the lowest level of radiation in operating mode (lower level than mobile), by using Wi-Fi connections the user receives 100% mobility and is always in touch, both for personal needs and for work.

Now we’ll take a closer look at how you can set up Wi-Fi on ByFly yourself. Let's take a modem as an example. .

Connecting to the M-200A modem

To start setting up, you need to go to the web interface of this modem. After loading the browser, you must enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press the enter key.

If you did everything correctly, the page will load and you will be asked to fill out the admin username and password fields. Use default login and password values and enter the word admin.

Solving problems when setting up Wifi

If you do not receive a request for a name and password, you should check that the modem is connected to the computer correctly. Then try to get its IP address from the modem again.

To do this, you need to go to the properties of the wired network connection, then to the properties of the TCP/IP protocol (this is Internet Protocol version 4 for Windows 7), there should be a checkbox to automatically obtain an IP address.

To search for network connections, you need to do the following with your operating system:

Windows XP: go to the control panel, there to network connections.

Windows 7: go to the Network and Sharing Center, then open the adapter settings changes.

If, after the work done, you cannot access the web interface of this modem at the specified address in the address bar, then you need to reset all modem settings to factory settings. Take the modem, turn it over and look for a small hole at the bottom. It must be signed as reset or reset. Find a needle and press it on the button located in this hole. Hold it for 5-10 seconds and then release. This way the modem will reboot itself and the settings will be reset to factory settings. Such a reboot can be resorted to if the modem was already configured correctly and any changes to its parameters were accidentally made, which led to incorrect operation.

Setting up ByFly Internet

And now you are taken to the web interface of the modem being installed. On the screen, in the upper part, there is a modem menu, at the bottom of the screen its settings, which are divided into blocks. To configure the modem correctly wifi byfly you need to go through 2 stages: at the first stage, the modem is configured as a router, and at the second stage, an access point is configured (which is WI FI).

Let's start the first stage– setting up the modem as a router. We work with the top menu and click, in turn, Interface Setup and just below – Internet. ISP parameter, in the Encapsulation block, check PPPoA/PPPoE, after which the settings window will be the same as in the illustration. In this PPPoA/PPPoE settings block, fill in the Username field and enter the user name there, and enter the password in the Password field. Bridge Interface parameter – check the Activated box, and check Yes in the Default Route parameter. After making changes to the modem settings, you need to save them by clicking the Save button (at the bottom of the screen). The stage of setting up the modem as a router is over. Now you need to set up a Wi-Fi access point.

Wi-Fi setup

In the top menu you need to select Interface Setup – Wireless. The window will become the same as in the illustration below. The PerSSID Switch parameter must be set to Activated. With this parameter we activate Wi-Fi and all that remains is to configure the network parameters. The SSID parameter is responsible for the network name. It will be seen by all devices with a Wi-Fi module within the range of our modem. Authentication Type and Encryption parameters are responsible for the security of the Wi-Fi network as a whole. The marks should be set as shown in the illustration. In the Pre-Shared Key field, you must enter the password you created for your Wi-Fi connection. It is most secure when the password consists not only of numbers, but also contains letters. The password must not be less than 8 characters. By clicking on the Save button you save all the settings for Wi-Fi connection and data transfer.

After filling out and saving all the necessary blocks with settings, you can safely disconnect the cable from the computer and connect to the newly created Wi-Fi wireless Internet network, where you will need to enter a password.

If everything is configured correctly, then access to the Internet can be achieved anywhere within the modem’s range.

We also watch the video: how to set up Wi-Fi on ByFly

.

Setting up ByFly Internet. Connection to wifi beltelecom. All the necessary settings for the modem from Beltelecom are described here: for the modem to operate in ByFly router mode - the Internet works automatically immediately (without connecting through a shortcut), it becomes possible to connect several computers (laptops, phones, tablets) at once - thus creating a home wireless network, to set up a Wi-Fi connection where the modem itself acts as the access point.
To set up, we need a working computer, laptop, netbook, without viruses, a modem (aka router and Wi-Fi access point), Promsvyaz and a network cable (included), connected to the By Fly Internet service.

Descriptions of connecting modems and wireless access points D-Link, Zyxel are not covered in this article.

To correctly configure ByFly Internet and wi-fi connection necessary:
- connect the cable to the network port of the computer (laptop) 2 or 3 port of the modem.
- turn on the power in the computer, laptop and modem. Wait until the system on the computer is fully loaded and the modem-router is initialized.
- it is advisable to remove the old antivirus (especially if it is not updated - it may block). Sometimes you have to reinstall Windows, since the main problem is often not the modem, but a virus-ridden computer, and the Internet does not work, it works slowly and with interruptions precisely because of this.
- launch OPERA browser,IE.
- V address bar enter (without spaces) the numbers: 192.168.1.1 (this is the address of our ByFly modem online).
- press ENTER.

Enter in both windows (password and user): admin (5 letters in English).
We get into the modem interface.

Click the Interface Setup tab. We go to the Interface Setup tab and the Internet subtab.
Everything should be like in the picture below.

You need to change the fields: username (in the Beltelecom agreement - the user), password (in the agreement this is the password) and Bridge Interface. We check if the Default Route checkbox is active and set to YES.
Click SAVE.
Click the LAN tab. You can't change anything here ( DNS servers will rise automatically!)
Or as in the picture for the city of Minsk. We transfer the DNS Relay to the USED USER DESCOVERED DNS state (use user-defined DNS servers - indicate for your region, in the figure DNS By Fly for Minsk.)

If changed, click SAVE.
If you use the modem as a wired router (i.e. you don’t need w-fi), further setting up By Fly internet not required, not only that, it is also undesirable. Activating the wi-fi module in the modem will make the device a source of radio interference, electromagnetic radiation (not good for health), and a “back door” for an attacker.
Click the Wireless tab. This is the wireless wi-fi connection setup for By Fly.

We change only what is indicated by the arrows in the picture.
We activate the wi-fi module in the router (it can be disabled by default - the menu items are not active).
As a rule, you need to put the point in the Activated position in the Access Point Settings menu.
Be sure to change the Pre-Shared Key item. This is your password to log into your wi-fi network. For convenience, change the SSID - this is the name of your network, make it unique so that you can recognize it. Call it (for example) BIGMAN (English layout is required), or in your own way.
Click SAVE.
The modem is ready for operation. Disconnect the network cable from the computer (laptop) to check wi-fi works(if it's necessary).
We turn on the wi-fi card on the laptop - look for the network (as specified in the SSID). Click connect, enter the password that you entered during setup in the Pre-Shared Key item.
Everything should work. If your computer or laptop does not display the network, the driver for the network card may not be installed, or there may be other problems.
Thus, a sufficient number of devices can be connected to our wireless network, as well as via cable, at the same time, which will work with the Internet connection without interfering with each other.

Byfly is trademark Beltelecom company, which provides access to high-speed Internet. It so happens that users are not always able to correctly configure network access themselves. This applies to both home Wi-Fi connections and public ones. In this article we will consider both options.
