Introduction

We have already had a detailed comparison of Highscreen devices – Zera F and Zera S – two budget gadgets with good parameters. A little later, a new device called Zera S Power was released. He became a modification regular version: changed appearance, the amount of built-in memory has increased and, most importantly, the Power has a very capacious 4000 mAh battery.

Since the difference between these smartphones is small, the review will be extremely short, I will only dwell in detail on the operating time and some other points.

Design, dimensions, control elements

Smartphone Highscreen Zera S Power looks quite simple: a rectangular body with sharp edges, a thick back cover, black color - in general, everything is as it should be for such gadgets, ugly and unsightly. The back cover is flat, but has smooth transition on the side edges, making the device comfortable to hold in your hand.

The dimensions are as follows – 133x68x13.5 mm, and the weight is 175 grams.

The body is entirely made of durable-looking semi-glossy plastic, the screen is protected by tempered glass, and there is an oleophobic coating: although fingerprints remain on the display, they are erased quickly; in addition, the finger glides over the surface easily.

After a couple of weeks of active use of the smartphone, not a single scratch appeared on the screen, the body did not rub, and no chips were found. Everything is fine with the assembly: nothing plays and does not crunch when the gadget is strongly squeezed.

On the front panel at the top there is speaker. Its volume is slightly above average, the timbre is relatively pleasant, not mumbling, and the interlocutor can be heard clearly and quite intelligibly. To the right of the speaker is an indicator of missed events, a selfie camera, light and proximity sensors.

Below the screen are traditional touch buttons“Android” – “Back”, “Home” and “Menu”. The backlight is white, bright, but does not dazzle the eyes at night.

A microphone is on the bottom, a standard 3.5 mm headphone output and micro-USB are on the top.

The power button was unexpectedly on the left. This arrangement is usually convenient for left-handed people. The button is thin, long, and almost recessed into the body. It's not very convenient to use. The volume rocker key is the same type. She's on the right.

On the back: camera eye and flash, deeply recessed into back cover, public address speaker.

To remove the socket, you need to pry it behind the recess on the left.

Card slot microSD memory and a connector for microSIM (2G only) - on the left, on the right - miniSIM (2G/3G).

Display

It uses exactly the same matrix as in the Zera S - 4.5" qHD (540x960 pixels) IPS. The physical size of the display of the first device is 56x99 mm. The frame on top is 15 mm, on the bottom - 17 mm, on the right and left - 5.5 mm.

The maximum brightness of white color is 811 cd/m2, the maximum brightness of black color is 1.17 cd/m2, contrast is 692:1.

Judging by the diagram, there is a clear lack of red, but there is an abundance of blue. Judging by the color chart, the coverage is slightly greater than sRGB (green).

The viewing angles are maximum, but when tilted, the picture turns a little purple.

In general, for such a device the screen was pleasantly surprised by its high brightness and excellent viewing angles.

Battery

You could guess from the name of the model: either it’s worth powerful processor, or capacious battery. However, given the cost of the Zera S Power, it’s easy to understand that it’s more about the battery than about any cool chipset.

The battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh. The manufacturer does not share operating time data with us, so we tested it ourselves.

  • Antutu Tester showed about 5000 points
  • Playing 720p video (MP4) at maximum screen brightness and headphone volume – approximately 8 hours
  • Browsing via Wi-Fi – about 18 hours
  • Browsing via 3G – about 12 hours
  • The total average operating time of the device (3G, calls, SMS, letters, Twitter) is approximately 27 hours

Despite the fairly good numbers, I still expected more.

For some reason the kit contains a dead one network adapter, which charges the battery to 100% in about four hours.

Communication capabilities

In this section, everything is typical for any Android smartphone in the budget category. The device operates in 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and 3G (900/2100 MHz) cellular networks.

Available Bluetooth version 4.0 for file and voice transfer. Present wireless connection Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. The smartphone, of course, can be used as an access point (Wi-Fi Hotspot) or modem.

The USB connector operates in Host mode, that is, it is easy to connect, for example, a Flash device to it.

There is GPS. Its sensitivity is quite good: in “cold” mode it finds up to 3 satellites in 20 seconds, in a room near a window in 10 seconds - up to 5 satellites, in an open space in the same time - up to 15.

Memory and memory card

Built-in 1 GB random access memory. On average, about 600 MB are free.

8 GB of Flash memory is allocated for data storage. Of these, 5-6 GB are available for user needs. There is a slot for a memory card, its maximum capacity is 32 GB.

Camera

Two modules: 5 MP with autofocus and 2 MP front without focusing. There is a flash.

Photo quality is average or below average. Mainly complaints about low detail, a lot of noise, and not the most accurate focus. “Front camera” shoots quite well.

The device records video in FullHD 30 fps resolution. The quality is poor: not sharp, when changing focus you can hear the lenses moving, the picture shakes if you quickly change focus between near and far objects.

Characteristics of a video file with Zera S Power

  • File Format: 3GP
  • Video codec: MPEG-4, 17 Mbit/s
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 30 fps
  • Audio codec: AAC, 128 Kbps
  • Channels: 1 channel, 48 kHz

Appearance

The device resembles the Highscreen Zera U smartphone in a body kit with a capacious battery and an enlarged back cover. The only thing is that the Highscreen Zera S Power does not have any replaceable panels, but the battery remains the same.

Its dimensions are as follows – 133x68x13.5 mm. Externally, the smartphone does not have any eye-catching elements and is designed in a simple style. Black color, sharp corners, thick back cover, it can hardly be said that it is convenient to carry in pants pockets.

The Highscreen Zera U body is controlled by durable semi-gloss plastic, but when you open the back cover, you get the feeling that it is about to break, although this is not the case. Tempered glass and oleophobic coating provide good protection display. The display gets dirty quickly, but it also cleans quickly.

On the front of the device there is a 4.5 inch IPS display, 2 MP front-camera and three touch buttons (Menu/Home/Back), which are located separately from the screen.

On the back of the device there is a branded inscription - the Highscreen company logo and the main 5 MP camera, and under the cover there is a slot for microSD, for SIM cards.

On the left is an on/off button and a volume rocker.

On the top edge of the device there is a 3.5 mm jack for headphones and charging.

There is a microphone at the bottom.

Generally speaking, the device has a good design, in the usual Highscreen style. The smartphone fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, but for fair half Humanity is unlikely to like its weight, which is 175 grams, so we can say that the Highscreen Zera S Power is more masculine than feminine.

Screen

The 4.5 inch qHD IPS screen with a resolution of 540x960 pixels shows an excellent picture. As a result, the user receives a juicy image. The maximum viewing angles simply cannot but please. The brightness is adjusted automatically and manually and is sufficient for comfortable work.

Filling

The Highscreen Zera S Power system is based on the MTK 6582M chipset. Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz shows excellent results. The Mali400mp video chip, already familiar to this processor, is responsible for the graphics, which allows you to play demanding games on your smartphone. World of Tanks Blitz launched on the device without much slowdown, and other games on the Highscreen Zera S Power simply “fly”. During testing of the smartphone, no lags or freezes were noticed.
1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory are enough to install all the necessary programs on your smartphone, plus in addition to all this you can install a memory card and transfer all your accumulated files to cloud storage 4Sync. Buyers of the Highscreen Zera S Power smartphone receive 64 GB of memory free of charge as a bonus. Next, we suggest you get acquainted with the test results:

Battery

As we have already said, Highscreen Zera S Power has a powerful 4000 mAh battery under its control, which shows excellent performance. If you are not an avid gamer and mobile phone For you only a means of communication and sometimes you can afford to visit the Internet, then the battery charge will last for almost 2 days of work. Under normal load, that is, a measured game, surfing the Internet, communication, listening to music, the battery charge is consistently enough for a whole working day, and there will still be some left for home fun. In other words, the developers managed to “charge” the smartphone not only with modern hardware, but also with a powerful battery. But you have to pay for everything, in this case, the smartphone has increased in size, but the feeling that you are holding an armored smartphone disappears almost immediately. Next, we suggest you get acquainted with the results of the AnTuTu Tester test:

Connection

As for communication modules, the smartphone contains the following set: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850; 900; 1800; 1900 MHz)/3G/UMTS/HSPA (900; 2100 MHz), GPS, Blueooth, Wi-Fi. When conducting tests, no problems when working with mobile operators was not recorded. Of course, you always want to get LTE support, however, in this price category you can hardly expect this.

The connection is reliable, and surfing the Internet via 3G is a pleasure. Even if interference appears, it is only in places where the signal itself is weak cellular network. Otherwise everything is perfect.

Camera

The 5 MP main camera shows very good results, considering its price category. However, the focusing speed is lacking. In a well-lit place, the pictures come out very well, but in dimly lit rooms the quality is immediately lost. Here are examples of photos:

The 2 MP front camera holds itself confidently and with its help you can create a good selfie. It is also perfect for video calls via Skype. Here are examples of photos:

Software

The device operates on the basis of the operating system Google systems Android 4.4.2. In addition, you can find various firmware on the Internet, although we don’t see the point in resetting the factory one, because everything works well. The usual applications are pre-installed and, most importantly, the Highscreen company does not change its traditions and does not install a huge number of necessary programs, which clog up the phone's memory.

But there is one small drawback: the smartphone does not have the necessary audio codecs to play the usual formats for watching a movie. That is, there is a picture, but no sound. This problem The solution is that users can download a player, for example "VLC". The problem that appears immediately disappears. So we can’t say that this is a big minus.

Results for Highscreen Zera S Power

Let's sum up the Highscreen Zera S Power smartphone. The device received a pleasant price of 8,990 rubles. And most importantly, this amount includes an excellent filling, a powerful battery, a very not a bad camera and much more. In other words, if you are not a fan of taking pictures at every pole, then the Highscreen Zera S Power is just perfect. If you are confused by its dimensions, then believe me, you get used to them quickly enough, this is compensated by time battery life.

Smartphone Highscreen Zera S Power receives a well-deserved award from our Internet resource - "Gold..

The Zera S line of the Russian brand Highscreen has a very interesting history. The fact is that its first version is also the first smartphone that was developed from scratch by domestic designers for this brand. Although devices from Highscreen traditionally differ in their characteristics, their appearance has always been created on the basis of “blanks” from Chinese factories. This is probably why the “fresh” Zera S has become quite a popular model. It would be simply stupid not to continue a successfully started business.

Later the Zera S Rev was released. S, which, in fact, was an improved and modified version of the original. Now you can find Highscreen Zera S Power on the shelves. This smartphone is equipped with a large amount of memory and an impressive battery. However, its advantages do not end there.

Equipment Highscreen Zera S Power

The packaging is designed in standard style Highscreen: “recycled” cardboard, schematic representation of the device on the front and its detailed description- on the back. Inside there is a fairly typical set: the phone itself, Charger, cable with charge indicator light, primitive headphones, brief instructions with a guarantee - simple and no frills.

Appearance of Highscreen Zera S Power

And here is the appearance of this device it will be much more interesting. It is clear that they worked on the design with all their hearts. Perhaps the smartphone does not look as original as we would like (after all, the “ears” of LG models stick out), but it’s definitely beautiful and pleasant. Highscreen Zera S Power looks “expensive”, and therefore walking down the street holding it in your hand is a pleasure.

The thickness of the device has become larger - now it is 13 mm (for comparison, it was 8.1 mm), but this change in size is justified by a powerful battery.

However, the rest of the smartphone is quite compact, and therefore it is more than comfortable to hold it in your hand.

Highscreen Zera S Power has a 4.5-inch diagonal screen covered with glass with an oleophobic coating. The latter prevents the accumulation of fingerprints.

As for the rest of the body, it is made of polycarbonate and has a soft-touch coating, which is very pleasant to the touch and, importantly, non-staining.

Things are a little worse with the buttons, which for some reason have been swapped - the power button is on the left, and the volume control is on the right. It's okay, but if your movements have become automatic, you'll have to get used to it.

Slots for two SIM cards and a memory card, for the sake of convenience, are hidden under back panel. The phone is assembled with high quality, without gaps or play.

Software

The smartphone runs on Android 4.4, which is more than relevant at the moment. Luckily there are no pre-installed branded shells– there is nothing superfluous on the system at all, except perhaps the client of the 4sync cloud service. But here the situation is such that the service gives buyers of the device in question 64 GB for remote data storage completely free of charge, so you don’t regret having this program. All other applications are standard for Android.

Screen Highscreen Zera S Power

As mentioned above, the device’s screen is small, 4.5 inches. The impression he makes is, on the whole, positive, but somewhat ambiguous. The catch is that the resolution is not very high, 540 by 960 pixels. Although for most purposes it is enough - if you don’t really find fault and don’t look for pixels.

But all other properties of the screen are more than excellent. The IPS matrix without an air gap between the screen and glass allows you to achieve excellent viewing angles, bright and very rich colors - in a word, everything here is at its best.

Performance Highscreen Zera S Power

The device is based on a MediaTek MT6582M with 4 ARM Cortex-A7 cores, each 1.3 GHz, as well as a video accelerator - Mali-400MP2. The total amount of RAM is 1 GB. Quite ordinary characteristics by modern standards, but this is enough, for example, to play Full HD video and even for most modern games. True, the most “advanced” of them still have to set the graphics settings to minimum so that there are no slowdowns.

A lot of such games can fit in – the memory capacity has been doubled, up to 8 GB. If this is not enough, you can install MicroSD cards up to 32 GB. Well, don’t forget about the free 64 GB that are provided by the 4Sync service - you can easily “send” your photos and documents there, significantly saving space on the device.

Sound

The sound quality is quite good, without any pronounced background noise. The volume level is more than sufficient. Although, of course, it is better to buy good headphones– those included are more suitable for conversations than for listening to music.

Camera

Highscreen Zera S Power has two cameras - the front one is simple, 2 megapixels, but it is suitable for video conversations. The second, main one, is 5 megapixels. Its quality is not outstanding, it is relatively normal and more than enough for everyday photography.

There is autofocus. The color rendition is especially good. The device can also shoot video in HD format at 30 frames per second.

Autonomy

But this is perhaps the main point of pride of the device. The battery capacity is 4,000 mAh. To put it simply, this means that if you actively load your smartphone, it will still not run out by the end of the day - more than a third of the charge will remain for the next one.

Well, if you don’t use up much charge, then four days of continuous operation will be quite realistic. And, although such a battery increases the size of the device, it is worth recognizing that the smartphone at least does not look bulky, as it was with the .

conclusions

The main achievement of the Highscreen Zera S Power is that the smartphone impresses very expensive device– although, in fact, this is an advanced “state employee”. High-quality design works real miracles. But in other respects the device is very good, especially for the money. Capacious battery, great screen, as well as high power for this class - for this you can forgive not too a high resolution screen and a frankly average camera. This smartphone will definitely find its buyer, there is no doubt about it.

Prices in online stores

It is possible to display other models if this one is not in the catalog.

Accelerometer(or G-sensor) - sensor of the device’s position in space. As a main function, the accelerometer is used to automatically change the orientation of the image on the display (vertical or horizontal). Also, the G-sensor is used as a pedometer; it can control various functions of the device by turning or shaking.
Gyroscope- a sensor that measures rotation angles relative to a fixed coordinate system. Capable of measuring rotation angles in several planes simultaneously. A gyroscope together with an accelerometer allows you to accurately determine the position of the device in space. Devices that use only accelerometers have lower measurement accuracy, especially when moving quickly. Also, the capabilities of the gyroscope can be used in modern games for mobile devices.
Light sensor- a sensor that sets the optimal brightness and contrast values for a given light level. The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Proximity sensor- a sensor that detects when the device is close to your face during a call, turns off the backlight and locks the screen, preventing accidental clicks. The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Geomagnetic sensor- a sensor for determining the direction of the world in which the device is directed. Tracks the orientation of the device in space relative to the magnetic poles of the Earth. The information received from the sensor is used in mapping programs for terrain orientation.
Atmospheric pressure sensor- sensor for precise measurement of atmospheric pressure. It is part of the GPS system, allows you to determine altitude above sea level and speed up location determination.
Touch ID- fingerprint identification sensor.

Satellite navigation:

GPS(Global Positioning System - global system positioning) - satellite system navigation, providing measurement of distance, time, speed and determining the location of objects anywhere on Earth. The system is developed, implemented and operated by the US Department of Defense. The basic principle of using the system is to determine location by measuring distances to an object from points with known coordinates - satellites. The distance is calculated by the delay time of signal propagation from sending it by the satellite to receiving it by the antenna of the GPS receiver.
GLONASS(Global Navigation Satellite System) - Soviet and Russian satellite navigation system, developed by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense. The measurement principle is similar to the American system GPS navigation. GLONASS is designed for operational navigation and timing support for land, sea, air and space-based users. The main difference from the GPS system is that GLONASS satellites in their orbital motion do not have resonance (synchrony) with the rotation of the Earth, which provides them with greater stability.
